Pierre Andre Gino Romain, President 

Pierre is the founding member and president of the ROSE Foundation of Haiti.  Mr. Romain was born and raised in Carrefour, Haiti.  During his youth in Haiti, under guidance of his mother Rose, he would observe the joy of helping the less fortunate.  His energy, altruism and dedication has been the cornerstone behind the ROSE Foundation of Haiti.  He has traveled to Haiti extensively in his mission to provide aid and assistance to the communities in Haiti in greatest need, where severe poverty, widespread unemployment, rampant malnutrition and crippling illiteracy are most pervasive.  Pierre has always been an active advocate for the homeless population.  He is the Executive Chef of the Allendale Bar & Grill in New Jersey where has been employed for the past 18 years.  

 

Laura J. Morris, MPH, Vice President

As our Vice President and one of the founding members, Laura oversees the programming of the ROSE Foundation and is our grant writer.  She has 10 years experience in the field of public health and earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University.  Laura was a Community Health Coordinator for Central Connecticut Health District and received over $150,000 in grant funding for community based prevention programming.  Prior to that she was a principle investigator for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for 7 years and worked on several grants on community based injury prevention and obesity prevention programs for the City of Hartford totaling $500,000. She is currently employed as a Health Advocate for the State of Connecticut, Office of the Healthcare Advocate.

 

Mary C. Romain,  Treasurer

Mary is a founding member, Treasurer and Secretary of the ROSE Foundation of Haiti.  Mary earned her BS in Marketing and Merchandise Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology.  She is currently the Director of Merchandise Planning at Ashley Stewart.  Prior to that, she served as Senior Planner at Polo Ralph Lauren.  Mary began her 13 year career at Stern’s where she held several buying, planning and training positions including Manager of Merchant Training.  Mary has been an active advocate for the people of Haiti for more than 10 years.  Her financial, analytical, forecasting, troubleshooting and administrative talents coupled with her strong passion for helping those in need have led her to this calling with the ROSE Foundation of Haiti.

Daniel R. Bergin, MSW, Secretary
Daniel first became involved in volunteer work in Haiti in the late 1990’s following his father’s mission to provide relief efforts in Haiti. Daniel is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and is currently employed as a social worker for the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Daniel’s passion and vocation has centered on advocacy and intervention for marginalized populations, which he continues to pursue through the ROSE Foundation of Haiti.
 

Adly Thebaud, M.D.  Board Member

Dr Adly Thebaud is a Board Certified Psychiatrist practicing in Central Florida. Born in Haiti, Dr Thebaud is very happy to serve as a board member of Rose Foundation and to help in its mission to provide aid and assistance to the impoverished communities of his native country. He has previously completed many medical missions in Africa and also in Haiti where he has participated in the teaching of Neonatal Resuscitation techniques to Nurses, Medical students and Physicians in practice. He also has a deep interest in the physical as well as the emotional well being of the people of Haiti. He sincerely thinks that Rose Foundation has a noble mission that is worth fighting for.

 

Josette Romain, M.D.  Board Member

Dr. Josette Romain is a Family Medicine Physician practicing in Florida.  A native of Haiti, Dr. Romain has been involved in medical mission trips to developing countries such as Africa, Honduras and Haiti for over a decade.  Dr. Romain is particularly interested in the health of newborn children and has taught Neonatal Resuscitation to Doctors, Nurses and Midwives in countries with high prevalence of neonatal death.  Dr. Romain is dedicated to improve the level of heath and education in Haiti and is proud to share the vision of the ROSE Foundation of Haiti.

 

Valquise Antoine, Public Relations Director

Valquise is one of our Board members living and working in Haiti. She received her Bachelors in Office Administration in Haiti.  Prior to the earthquake she was employed by the Haitian Government as an Administrative Assistant for the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation for 23 years.  She is currently employed by IRD (International Relief Development) as an Operation Program Manager. She spent 5 years as a volunteer teacher of international college of Salesian Sisters in Carrefour.  Her love of God, her great passion for helping the disabled, elderly and poor, governs her daily life. In 2004 she founded the association of humanitarian assistance for the needy in Haiti.
